Butterflies, Doilies, Motifs, Bookmarks, Cupcakes, Turtle, Earrings, Bracelet, Bag,

Linda has done an awesome job on this CQ block that's so full of embroidery it's hard to see the tatting, but the dragonflies birds and butterflies are in there.

Diane was in the mood to work on her Jan Stawasz doily, but had to stop and fill her shuttles, so she didn't get as far as she would like. She did get a little more of the Purple Splendor Spinning Wheel Glass Mat done. One more day and a bit more accomplished on each doily. Another day and a bit more on her "Masterpiece" doily.

Fox has found these lozenge shaped motifs have driven her crazy, but they are pretty and the doily is taking shape. Now for the second round on these insane making lozenges and she hopes she has enough thread. To give her sanity a break she pulled out Jon's book of covered rings and some size 80 thread which she doubled to give her something close to a size 30 and added some teal beads.

Kristen has been tatting lots of bookmarks. For her cousin's birthday, she made Jane Eborall's Fandango bookmark in Lizbeth size 20, #184 and #657. This Flowery SCMR bookmark (also by Jane Eborall) done in Lizbeth size 20, #647 and #680, was given to her aunt as a thank you gift. The Simple Celtic Knot bookmark by Toptattyhead was made for her sister, who likes celtic designs in  Lizbeth size 80, #104 and #665. The Spiral bookmark by Gina was done in Lizbeth size 20, #152 and #638  for a friend's surprise birthday party. Cupcake by Be-stitched was done in Lizbeth size 20, #618, #620, and #644. Tatty Turtle by Mark Myers was worked in Lizbeth size 20, #680.

Lilas made these earrings and bracelet for a wedding whose colour theme was blue. Aren't they lovely?

Margaret and Suzanne are doing a Pinterest challenge following a pattern from Tatting Patterns by Mary Konior. She used Lizbeth thread no 20 in white and an organza bag for the inside. She started the bottom with a ring and then worked it round until she had the size of the bag and now that it's done she's making a couple more.

Marie used up the thread on some shuttle to make this doodle bookmark. The doily has two more rounds to go. The bookmark is for her niece's birthday and since she just transferred schools and a Lion bookmark celebrating the Lin Mar Lions seemed appropriate.

Sue is working on her triangle cross design, but it's stalled at the moment. She has 2 variations in progress just trying things out. On the left hand side is one of Elaine P. Gan's crosses named Hope from  her new book tatted (incorrectly somehow), in Yarnplayer's Adventurer HDT size 40. To the right side of the picture, she made a tiny bit more progress on Robin Perfetti's cross, although, in this cross part of the thread snapped.

Bookmarks, Doilies and Pins

Mary Lena tatted "Christina", a bookmark from Lene Bjorn's Tatted Bookmarks – cross-shaped.

Julie made the Josephina Cross in DMC size 60. She continues to work on Norma Benporath's Little Lace Mat using Lizbeth size 40 colours 646 and 647.

mb duke finished this cross designed by Robin Perfetti and she loves this pattern tatted in Lizbeth Lime Green Medium and Azalea Medium in size 80 thread. Here is her Renulek 2015 Spring doily after round 7.

Diane is satisfied now that she has finished her first project of the year, Mary Konior's Spinning Wheel Glass Mat in size 10  Lizbeth, #119, Jelly Bean. For comparison, these are in size 10, 20, and 80. The size 10 is 7", size 20 is 5.5", and size 80 is 3.5". She started another today using size 10 Lizbeth again, colour #129 Purple Splendor.

Lilas chose for the spring challenge of using 2 motifs in a creative way, to superimpose them and add beads. Then she added a twisted chain to make a pendant.

Marie is ready to start the next round and there's only two more to go.

Wanda experimented with lapel pins. The first one she tried she bent a bit and added beads and it works well as a hat/lapel pin. The next one she left straight and made it a bit more simple.

Doilies, Necklace, Earrings, Lanyard and Bookmarks

Lelia enjoyed the Indiana Lace Day where Carol brought her tatted Tardis doily. Diane showed off the work on her Jan Stawasz "Masterpiece" doily and Renulek's Spring doily. Marilee wore a colourful necklace and  tatted earrings she made. Sue Anna was using Patti Duff's beaded lanyard pattern with a smaller size bead. There was a bowl of embellished paper clips to choose from + a chapter pin to select from when they arrived at the door.

Cindy found round 10 of Wiosna relaxing, easy to tat, and a wonderful round to use the variegated thread that took about 8 hours to tat. There are times when variegated thread throws the shape or balance of the doily off, and it sometimes makes her think she made an error somewhere.

Diane got a little bit more done on her Jan Stawasz doily. She also spared some time for Mary Konior's Spinning Wheel Glass Mat. Just a little more and this Spinning Wheel will be done.

Fox has given up on the hat since it refuses to curve into a cap and she has declared it a trivet and gifted it to a young couple who just became engaged. The progress of the Fikkert piece is moving slowly as these little ovals aren't fun to do and there are such a lot of them.

Sue has 7 triangles done for a cross she's working on, but the last ring broke as she was closing it so she put it aside for now. This cross is done and waiting for her thumb to heal before she tries using a needle to finish it off, another cross is started and she has more done on her doily.
